design / research

In 2005 Jackie Kriekle and I were selected to co-edit the thesis publication for the graduating architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design students at al&d at the University of Toronto. This job required streamlining 55 diverse projects, balancing an extremely tight production budget, and adhering to a very rigid schedule.
I took a particular interest in the thematic cross-connectivity between projects and developed an indexing system to allow for lateral movement through the projects by pedagogy, geography, and theme. This required my internalizing the discourse of each of the projects and creating a taxonomy with which to tag each of the projects. The resulting text, Infrastructure, was published in early 2006.
