Postopolis! LA

A while back I mentioned that I would be attending the upcoming Postopolis! LA conference and blogathon. According to the venerable Storefront for Art and Architecture the event will provide five days of "near-continuous conversation about architecture, art, urbanism, landscape, and design". The event, which runs next Tuesday through Saturday, will feature dozens of speakers including Steve Roden, Jeffrey Inaba, Benjamin Bratton, Ben Cerveny and Eric Rodenbeck from Stamen Design and many others. What I'm really anticipating is the presenters that I'm not familiar with as I'm confident that the Postopolis brain trust (ArchDaily, BLDGBLOG, City of Sound, Mudd Up!, Subtopia and We Make Money Not Art) have stacked the entire schedule with provocative speakers. The event will take place on the rooftop of the Standard Hotel which means If I am looking northeast a week from now I'll enjoy the above view and if I look northwest I'll see the infamous Bonaventure.
I've been asked me to participate in a media panel alongside representatives from Architects Newspaper and Curbed LA as well as Alissa Walker and Christina Ulke. I'll also be speaking at my pre-grad school digs LAIAD. Itinerary aside, what I'm really looking forward to is a week of warmth and inspiration as downtown Los Angeles always gets the neurons firing.
I will most certainly be posting about the conference proceedings here and via my twitter account so stay tuned for those content streams. A schedule and loads of information on Postopolis! LA is available here.
